Finance Committee

• Develops annual budgets

• Reviews and/ or prepares annual tax returns

• Monitors financial performance and recommends financial strategies

 

Membership Committee

Chair: Dessie Levy

Co- Chair: Shanita Washington

• Devise ways and means of recruiting and retaining members

• Provides chapter information to new and prospective members

 

Constitution and Bylaws Committee

Chair: Patricia McManus

• Maintains chapter by-laws and assures consistency with National by-laws

• Reviews and coordinates the submission of revised by-laws to National every 5 years or as required.

 

Community Health Education Committee

Chair: Pamela Robbins

Co- Chair: Trina Hanson

• Plans and/ or coordinates chapter participation in community health screening and professional events consistent with the goals of the objectives of the MCNBNA.

• Serves a liaison role to keep the organization abreast of health care trends and certification opportunities.

• Keeps the chapter abreast of health policy issues.

• Develops policy statements regarding health issues impacting the African American community.

• Serves as Legislative Liaison to NBNA

• Coordinates activities related to health policy including participant in political activities.

 

Scholarship Committee

Co-Chair: Shanita Washington

Co-Chair: Jacinda Hurt

• Coordinates the annual scholarship award process

• Selects and recommends candidates for annual scholarships

Mentoring Committee

Chair: Jacinda Hurt

• Identifies and supports mentors for students

• Links/assigns students to mentors

• Facilitates activities that promote relationship building between the chapter and nursing students.
